Making a simple white rice is the key to enjoying a proper Indian meal. The rice has to be fluffy yet have a texture that's a bit sticky to hold the sauce of the Rogan Josh, for example. Don't fret, it's easier than you think. Just a few steps and you will have perfect rice in 20 minutes flat!

First, pick a high quality Indian Basmati rice, (Tilda and 24 Mantra are our go-tos). If you prefer a stickier rice, pick Thai Jasmine. Rinse one cup of rice in a bowl of cold water and drain. Repeat two times or until the water runs clear. Transfer to a medium-sized pot, preferably non-stick. Add 1 3/4 cup of cold water and place on medium-high heat. Bring to a boil, turn heat to low, cover and cook for about 15 minutes. Fluff and serve with your favorite Indian dish!
